The tragic death of Dr Pearson prompted his wife Sandy Vigar to issue a plea to the driver to come forward.

Her plea received widespread media coverage, which police believe would have given the person who struck Dr Pearson a fair idea of what had happened.

"If you are going to sit on that for the rest of your life, you are going to have a pretty tortured life.

EARLIER: The wife of cyclist Dr Martin Pearson who was killed in a hit and run on Anzac Day has begged the driver to come forward.

Dr Pearson lived in Lowood and was an Associate Professor of Veterinary Anaesthesia at the University of Queensland Gatton Campus.

He was struck by a vehicle at Inglewood on the Inglewood Millmerran Rd sometime between 2.30pm and 3.25pm.
